FALLS & STANDARDS

Falls & Standards is an offshoot of the studio, sharing our love for bearded irises (Iris germanica). Born from a deep (and ever-growing) obsession for bearded irises, our passion grew from seeing the potential of a flower that has long been considered to be “old-fashioned” and how its delicate nuances in colour and elegant ruffles hold endless inspiration for us as designers and artists.

We grow around 200 varieties of bearded iris, each one completely individual and offering a wide combination of hues. No one iris is the same blend of colours; this creates an opportunity for so much creativity in our floral designs and styling.

Our iris are predominantly American varieties, hybridised by some of the best growers in the USA, this means our collection is unusual and offers the opportunity to see and work with varieties that are not readily available in the UK.

From years of growing bearded irises, we have gained extensive knowledge of how to grow and arrange these unique flowers. Often seen as a challenging flower to work with, we embrace their bold structure and flamboyant nature to create designs that celebrate their fleeting striking beauty.
